Mostly Pictures – Day by Day

My first Klettersteig – Via Ferrata

In October last year (a week later than the snow pictures I showed here), I did my first via ferrata. Some friends, who do via ferratas frequently took me with them, and I could also get the equipment I was missing from them. We did the Mürren via ferrata, which goes from Mürren down to Gimmelwald. As the via ferrata goes mostly down, it is quite special (and I have to say I enjoyed the mostly upward via ferrata I did since way more). It was late October, there has already been snow in the mountains, but Mürren is not that high, and we caught a wonderful fall day.

Of course (fall in the lowlands…), first it was incredibly foggy… only when we drove over the Brünig pass, the sun finally came.

And of course, we had a great view on the mountains at all time. As I had not yet bought my point and shoot, I took my DSLR with me. And I did not dare to take pictures on the most exposed places (had the urge to leave them as fast as possible), I did not take that many pictures on that day.

But here, I show you the view down:

And then it was done, and we had lunch in Gimmelwald, sitting on a bench and enjoying the sun.

And that bar of chocolate was eaten on that day.

And then, we had to say goodbye to the sun again. (again, we don’t get much sun where I live in late fall/winter)

  1. Impressive, especially the views down the valley. I want to do a Klettersteig exactly for this reason too :)

Thank you. This year we did the Tierbergliklettersteig, and I liked it more than the Mürren one.
